A pretty sick hand here at the EPT. Beware, guys - here goes.
Mel Judah raises to 1900 from fairly early position with an A5. Ramzi Jelassi, 19 years old, smells weakness and reraises to 5000. Mel senses wekness as well - and decides to call.
The flop comes Q 7 4 , meaning both players have absolutely nothing - no pair, no draw. Mel checks and then Ramzi bets 6,000. Now Mel decides to check-raise to 20K - so now the hand is over, right? Well, not exactly: Ramzi moves all-in with a jack high, no pair / no draw. And Mel is now so committed with only 8K left, that he decides to call with an ace high / no pair / no draw. No help on the turn and river for either player, and Judah wins a massive 70K pot - with absolutely nothing!
Now, I haven’t seen this hand myself, but it has been confirmed from various sources that this was indeed the correct sequence of events. Well, let’s just asume that it is - if only because it makes for such a nice story. By the way, Ramzi had gotten his large stack in a nice pot as well: Holding TT versus 33 - and a flop TT3.
